If you’re dreaming of a Shenandoah session filled with gorgeous views, golden light, and a little adventure, Megan’s sunrise session with her sweet dog, Whiskey, was the perfect example of why I love being a Shenandoah photographer. Shenandoah National Park is one of my favorite places to shoot, and sunrise is truly the most magical time to be on the trails. It’s so quiet, peaceful, and absolutely breathtaking!
For this session, we met before sunrise and started the short hike up to the overlook. Megan was all in for the adventure, and Whiskey trotted along happily beside her, ready for whatever came next. We even had to do a little rock climbing to reach the best angles, but Megan and Whiskey handled it like a pro. Not gonna lie, rock climbing with a camera in my hand was kinda difficult (haha!).
When the sun finally peeked over the mountains, the entire sky glowed with warm color. Megan and Whiskey were surrounded by golden light, and it created the most beautiful, natural images. Sessions like this are why I encourage anyone considering a Shenandoah session to choose sunrise if they can.; the light is soft, the trails are quiet, and the whole experience feels intimate and peaceful.
I’m always honored when clients choose me as their Shenandoah photographer. Whether you want a relaxed overlook session or a mountaintop adventure like Megan’s, Shenandoah offers endless photography opportunities in every season.
If you’re looking to plan your own Shenandoah session, sunrise, sunset, or anything in between, I’d love to help you create something beautiful and memorable. Reach out anytime!
