A Beautiful Smith Mountain Lake Senior Session. There’s just something about senior sessions at Smith Mountain Lake that makes them so much fun. Between the water, the trees, the docks, and all of the little spots to explore, there are so many different backdrops to work withand this session was no exception!
We had the most beautiful weather for this Smith Mountain Lake senior session. It was one of those days that made being outside feel effortless, with gorgeous light and the perfect temperature. We spent the session walking around and exploring different areas around the lake, stopping whenever we found a spot that felt just right.
And honestly, she was model material! She made my job so easy and completely rocked every location we found. I love when a senior is willing to have fun with a session and just go with the flow, and she was exactly that. We were able to get a great mix of photos in different settings while still keeping everything natural and true to her.
One of my favorite parts of the session was ending up down by the water. We spent some time on the dock and even splashed our feet in the lake, which made for some of my favorite images from the whole session. It was such a fun way to finish the day and added a little something different to her senior portraits.
Smith Mountain Lake is one of my favorite places for senior photography because there are so many ways to make each session feel completely different. Whether we’re walking along the shoreline, hanging out on a dock, exploring the trees, or chasing that beautiful evening light, there’s always somewhere new to find.
This was such a fun session from start to finish, and I’m so glad we got to spend an afternoon exploring Smith Mountain Lake together. Beautiful weather, gorgeous scenery, and a senior who absolutely crushed it—what more could you ask for?
